School Counseling

Expert Guidance

School counselors play an essential role in creating equity, inclusiveness, and promoting success for all.  By following the recommended 250:1 school counselor to student ratio set by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), the school counselors employed by iVast understand the importance of building a solid rapport with students to assist them in meeting their academic goals.  View your specific state’s school counselor to student ratio here.

Appropriate school counselor duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Individual student academic planning and goal setting

  • Short term counseling to students

  • Referrals for long term support

School counselors are an integral link in the chain that supports our children’s pursuit of academic, emotional, and social success. They are specially trained educators who possess a master's degree. School counselors work with school faculty, staff, students, parents, and the community to plan, implement, and evaluate a developmental guidance and counseling program.
